Flag Day was established by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyevm on November 17^th, 2009, as the ‘Day of the State Flag’. Every November 9^th is celebrated as ‘Day of the State Flag’ in our country.

Head of the Department of Political Science & International Relations Jabi Bahramov and Head of the Centre for Applied Political Policies at WCU Elkhan Shahinoglu talked about the history of independence of Azerbaijan and noted that our Tsar's flag is a symbol of our people's formation and independence.

The event comprised a documentary video and musical performance by the Student Organisation of the University, Student Scientific Society and Student Volunteer Union.
