What is distance education

Distance education is an opportunity to learn from any distance (at home, at work, at educational centres) without direct contact with the teacher. It’s the modern universal form of professional education based on personal needs facilitated by the internet. At the same time, it allows trainees to increase their professional acumen in accordance with personal characteristics. In this process, learners use interactive teaching-learning materials for a certain period of time. By means of the internet and other communication resources, a student performs assessment under the guidance of teachers to pass the test.

Urgency of distance education

As one of the fastest growing forms of education, existing web servers and software capabilities make it possible to create interactive programmes for learning through a global network. Distance education, through internet technology, continues to expand its capabilities and is regarded as a system that reflects the synthesis of the international internet network as well as television, and employs specific teaching techniques. This new form of education not only allows for the intensification of knowledge-sharing for a wide range of potential learning, but also creates a market environment for education among consumers of new knowledge and technology.
