The Ph.D. in World Economics provides expert knowledge in international trade and international economic relations, including other key components in the economy. As an integral part of the programme, students carry out independent research that includes formal methods and tools that can be used in the modern economy, resulting in more in-depth knowledge acquisition.
The programme is completed with the defense of their dissertation. This activity provides researchers with the chance to strengthen their knowledge of economics and to demonstrate their skills by using tools and methods of modern economics. The research begins at an early stage which allows articles to be submitted for publication in prestigious scientific journals. Students also participate in scientific conferences and symposiums to present research results.
WCU pays significant attention to international cooperation to improve knowledge and share experiences by inviting international experts such as Colin Love from the UK, Randall Baker and Rise Kelsey from the US, Ross Douglas from Canada, Emmanuel Arconand and Martinez Cristobal from Spain. In addition, our doctoral students may participate in the Erasmus Mundus programme to improve their research and gain international experience.
