2018
A mini football tournament between the universities of Azerbaijan and Western Caspian University, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People’s Republic of Azerbaijan, organised by the Western Caspian University and the Union of Azerbaijani Student Youth Organisations has ended.
15 teams contested the tournament held at West Caspian University. At the end of the competition, which was interesting and tense, the WCU team won the top prize.
2nd and 3rd places were taken by the Azerbaijan University of Architecture & Construction and Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture & Sport respectively.
WCU School of Political Sciences student, Yadigar Nagiyev, participated in the Republican Student Scientific Conference ‘Heydar Aliyev & Modern Azerbaijan’ dedicated to the 95th anniversary of National Leader, Heydar Aliyev.
Gunel Huseynova, the creator of the ‘Parking App’, who works in the WCU Technopark, received an award from the State Committee for Family, Women & Children’s Affairs. The Parking App aims to help drivers find a parking space and purchase it online before arrival, to save time.
Western Caspian University Lecturer Dr. Vasilya Hajiyeva was awarded an honorary certificate by the Committee on Family, Women & Children’s Affairs and the Copyright Agency.
Intel has acknowledged project manager and Western Caspian University student, Azer Nemanli. It should be noted that the ‘Vooby’ project was also recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the e-Education Republican Contest.
Western Caspian University was awarded a certificate for organisational support at Hackathon Azerbaijan.
2017
WCU student, who ranks among the 25 selected for the EcoCivil project, presented the start-up idea ‘Smart Idea- Smart Green Built’. The idea was praised by the jury and our student was rewarded with a certificate. EcoCivil project was implemented by the Ireli Public Union, with financial support from the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
2016
Azerbaijan Open Air & Extreme Sports Federation (FAIREX), together with the Ministry of Youth & Sports, hosted the IX Ice Open Opening Championship held in frozen waterfalls near Laza village of Gusar region on 30th & 31st January. The WCU team took second place in the final. Also our fourth-year student, Novruzova Fidan, won second place in the individual competition.
2015
The Western University Sports Club was awarded a diploma by the Air & Extreme Sports Federation of Azerbaijan for 2nd place in the ‘Umid’ race on ‘Sport Climbing (bouldering)’ held on 4th & 5th April 2015.
Member of the West University Sports Club, Ilkin Mustafazade, won various awards at different times and was awarded the following prizes:
He was awarded a diploma by the Kung Fu Federation of Georgia for taking 2nd place in the 60kg weight class at the Eurasian Cup of Kung Fu-Fighting (Tbilisi, Georgia).
Second place at ‘Wushu Kung Fu’ (Italy, Rome).
He was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for securing first place in the 60kg category of the Azerbaijani championship in Eurasian Cup of Kung Fu Fighting.
He was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan for securing first place in the international tournament ‘Battle types’ dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of the National Leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.
Azerbaijan was awarded 2nd place at the international tournament CUP OF GEORGIA held in Tbilisi, Georgia, within WUSHU SANDA.
Western University Sports Club member, Ilkin Mustafayev, as a representative of Azerbaijan in 56kg category, won first place in the World Cup on ‘Wushu Sanda’ held in Budapest, Hungary between 9th &14th November.
Member of the Western University Sport Club, Mustafayev Ilkin, won third place in the Wushu Sanda category of BUDO fight types at the First World Cup BUDO Boxing Tournaments in Baku from 27th to 31st December.
2014
Western University Sports Club was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan for taking first place at the Republican Sports Climbing Championship for clubs.
We express our gratitude to the cheerful and resourceful Club for their successful participation in the official Azerbaijan Regional League gala-concert, Azerbaijan. Thanks-giving and Wizard Club also received awards.
2013
The Student Youth Organization of Azerbaijan awarded Western University’s Western Fire Team, a diploma for its successful participation in the First Baku City Intellectual Games.
The West University Sports Club was awarded by the Air & Extreme Sports Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan for its active participation in the Draytuling Championship held on December 14th & 15th, 2013.
2012
The Western University Debate Club was awarded an honorary certificate for its active involvement in the Baku Youth Debate Forum, organised by the WCU Debate Club. The Youth Debate Forum 2012/13 was co-organized by the Civil Society Public Union with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
2009
The Western University team has been awarded a diploma by the Azerbaijani Council of Youth Student Sports Society for securing 3rd place in Basketball (men) at the IX Republican Universiade among students of higher education institutions.
The Western University team was honored by the Sabail District Youth & Sports Department for its 3rd place in the Olympiad for students of higher education institutions on the life & activities of the Great Leader dedicated to the 86th anniversary of National Leader, Heydar Aliyev.
2008
Western University has been awarded a certificate by AIESEC for its support at the International Conference in Baku.
2007
The Western University Basketball Team won 2nd place at the Republican University Championship for men.
Western University was awarded a Certificate for Cooperation in the 1st Azerbaijan International Education & Career Exhibition by Education & Carer.
The Western University Chorus Club was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan for winning first place in the ‘Pop Music’ nomination at the ‘Student Spring’ Student Creativity Festival.
Western University was awarded a diploma by the Sabail District Youth Sports Department for winning first place in the chess championship for juniors, on the occasion of ‘Independence Day’ on 18 October 2007.
The Western University Debate Club was awarded an Honorary Decree by the Civil Society Debate Public Union for active involvement in the Debate Program 2006-2007.
2006
The Western University Basketball Team was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Finance & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan for winning 2nd place in the VIII Republican Basketball (men) competition.
A member of the Western University Sports Club, Abbaszadeh Tagi, won a bronze medal in the Open Championship of Sabail (arm-wrestling). He was awarded a diploma by the Azerbaijani Federation of Wrestling, for securing 3rd place in his weight category.
2005
The Western University Basketball Team was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Finance & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan for securing 2nd place in the VIII Republican Basketball (men) competition.
Abbaszadeh Tagi, a member of the Western University Sports Club won a bronze medal in the Arm-wrestling Open Championship (arm-wrestling) for higher educational institutions in Sabail district. He was decorated with a diploma by the Azerbaijani Federation of Wrestling, as he occupied 3rd place in his weight category.
2004
Consulting & Business magazine has awarded Western University the Ugur Award for its achievements in academics.
The Western University Basketball team was awarded a diploma by the Azerbaijan Republic Council of Student Sport Society ‘Ganjlik’ for securing first place in the national team rankings at the Republican Basketball (men) Championship for universities.
2003
Western University was awarded the Ugur Prize by Consulting & Business magazine for its achievements in academics.
Western University Basketball team was awarded a bronze medal by the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan for securing third place at the Azerbaijani championship.

Western University was awarded the Ugur Award by Consulting & Business magazine for its achievements in academics.
The ‘Green Branches’ bronze prize was awarded to Western University for its contribution to the development of German-Azerbaijani friendship.
The Western University Brain Ring team was awarded a diploma by the Department of Youth, Sports & Tourism of the Office of the Chief Executive of Sabail District of Azerbaijan for taking 1st place in the ‘Brain Ring’ intellectual games for universities in Sabail district.
The Western University Basketball team was awarded a diploma by the Azerbaijan Council of Student Sport Society ‘Ganjlik’ for taking 1st place in the Republican Basketball Championship among universities, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee.
Western University’s Brain Ring team was awarded a diploma by the Department of Youth, Sports & Tourism of the Administration of Sabail District Executive Power of the Republic of Azerbaijan for taking 3rd place at the ‘Brain Ring’ Intellectual Games among Sabail District universities.
Western University’s Mini-football team was awarded a diploma by the Department of Youth, Sports & Tourism of the Office of the Chief Executive of Sabail District of Azerbaijan, for taking first place in the mini-soccer competition dedicated to Novruz Holiday in Sabail.

The Western University Basketball Team was awarded a diploma by the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, taking 1st place in the Azerbaijani Basketball Championship.
The Western University Mini-football team was awarded a diploma by the Department of Youth & Sports of the Office of the Chief Executive of the Sabail District Executive Power of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for securing 2nd place among the Physical Training collectives at the Sabail District Championship.
The West University Basketball team was awarded a diploma by the Republican Council of Student Sport Society ‘Ganjlik’ for taking 2nd place in Basketball (men) in the fifth Republic University among the students of higher education institutions, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
2000
The Western University team was awarded a diploma by the Department of Youth & Sports of the Office of the Chief Executive of the Sabail District Executive Power of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for securing 1st place in the ‘Brain Ring’ Intellectual Games held among universities of Sabail district (Russian sector).
The Western University team was awarded a diploma by the Department of Youth & Sports of the Office of the Chief Executive of the Sabail District Executive Power of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for securing 3rd place in the football competition among the Physical Training Team for the Sabail Regional Cup.
The Western University Basketball team was awarded a diploma by the Republican Council of Student Sports Society ‘Ganjlik’ for securing 1st place in the Republican Basketball Championship (men) for students of higher educational institutions.

The Western University sports team was awarded a diploma in the field of occupation by the Republican Council of Student Sports Society ‘Ganjlik’ in a competition held among higher education institutions.
1998
Western University Chorus Collectives was awarded a First Degree Diploma by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in a competition for higher and secondary vocational education institutions.
Western University Physical Education Teacher, A. Agaliev, was awarded a diploma by the Republican Council of Student Sport Society ‘Ganjlik’ for his outstanding achievements among private universities.
